The TGA enforces policies and rules in compliance to National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC) regulations and the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act (IGRA), as well as Tribal/State Compact and Squaxin Island Gaming regulations. The TGA reports to the SIGC regularly and recommends policies and rules to help regulate gaming on Tribal lands. The SIGC administers gaming enforcement polices for the Squaxin Island Tribal Gaming Agency (TGA).

The Commission is a five-member body appointed with the terms and conditions of the Squaxin Island Tribal Council. The Squaxin Island Gaming Commission (SIGC) was established by Ordinance in 1994 and later ratified on Decemand February 10, 2021.
